Holy cow. I just finished a really long week with work. For some, 46 hours a week is nothing. For me...it's been a long time since I worked that much so it made for a really long week. We had inventory so, that day, I worked for just over 12 hours that day. And today we had our annual sidewalk sale in Blackfoot (btw, Blackfoot, ID is an odd little town). I woke up at 5:30 and was in Blackfoot by 7:00. I stayed for the sale until 1:30 then went back to Idaho Falls and worked at the store until almost 8:00 pm. Needless to say, I'm exhausted.
And, also needless to say, I am going to sleep very, very well tonight.

It's all relative, no? Before we moved here Dave was working apx. 30 hours a week with two days a week off. I cried a lot when we first moved here and he started working 80 hours a week with 4 days off a month. A couple of weeks ago he came home in the afternoon and said that someone was sick so he had to be on call for them; therefore he would be going to work right then and be gone until Noon the next day. It was unexpected and a little disappointing, but I took it in stride and said, "OK. See you tomorrow." No tears. That, my friend, is acclimation. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have blast this week with the fam. Tell them all hi and don't have too much fun without me. We'll see you on the 4th of July, right??? :) (and if you can, bring your parents, Katie, Rico, and kids along too--just to spice it up!)
